25 Apr 2024Open Forum: Functioning Payments in Crisis and War Thu 13:00 - 14:15 | Published on the website 13:00
The Riksbank is organising a seminar that addresses the question: If Sweden is hit by a crisis - how will our payments work and what role will cash play? In the event of shorter or longer disruptions to electricity and communication networks, it may be difficult to make payments. How do we collectively ensure that payments can be made in various crises and what solutions are available?
The panellists will give their views on how payments work in different types of crises and what solutions are available.
The Open Forum will be moderated by Ann-Leena Mikiver, Head of Communications at the Riksbank.
- Deputy Governor Aino Bunge
- Minister for Financial Markets Niklas Wykman
- SEB's CEO Johan Torgeby
- Joeri van Laere, professor of informatics and crisis researcher at the University of Skövde.
The Forum will be conducted in Swedish.
Aino Bunge will be available at the venue for comments to the media after the event. Contact Susanne Meyer Söderlind, [email protected], or 070-246 61 67 for more information.
